About

Hello! I’m Weiyi, a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University in the Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering, under the guidance of Dr. Menachem Elimelech. I’m an environmental engineer by training with a background in engineering and aquatic chemistry.

My work and research

My research interests cover diverse aspects of environmental science and engineering related to drinking water and wastewater issues in the United States. My current research topic focuses on using electrosorption and membrane technology to selectively remove contaminants. I have also studied lead corrosion product formation/interfacial reactions and the lead exposure quantification method.

My background and history

I am from Zhejiang, China. I earned my Ph.D. degree from the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering Washington University in St. Louis in 2022, working with Dr. Daniel Giammar. I was a McDonnell Scholar and a China Risun Group (Hong Kong) Fellow. Before that, I earned my Master of Science degree at Peking University in 2017 and a Bachelor’s degree at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) in 2014.
